We here at CB HQ focus the bulk of our attention on the arts and not a lot on athletics (with the exception of our weekly Browns updates, random spontaneous cheers that Shaq is now a Cav, and therapeutic efforts to not get all cynical on Indians management). Perhaps the lack of focus on athletics is why the CB population is so, well, bulky.
Regardless, we are remedying that today, at least temporarily, by bringing to your attention the upcoming Second Annual Summer Games event sponsored by Metromix and Cleveland Plays.
This sounds like a pretty interesting event, particularly since it involves beer. A lot of beer. We are talking all you can drink (and eat) all day.
Cost is $60, which'll get you and a partner (these Olympics call for teams of two) into the a competition slot (plus the aforementioned all you can eating and drinking). Events include cornhole, beer pong, keg toss, limbo, hula hoop, water balloon toss, 3-legged race, and more, and prizes go out for first, second, and third place.
Afterwards, if you are the type lacking either shame or body image issues, Metromix is throwing a massive hot tub party, DJ and all.
If this sounds like your thing, hit up Mulberry's on the west bank of the Flats. Registration begins at 11 and the games get going at 12. Click here for a little more info, and here for some pics of what went down last year.
Go USA! I mean, uh, whatever. I hope you win, whoever you are.
