In my excitement about the fact that Evangelicals, one of my favorite bands the last few years, is headlining the show that inaugurates the new Cleveland Bachelor Show of the Month poster series with John G., I've been remiss in talking about the other exciting act on that bill, Florida's Holiday Shores.
The Panhandle-based band (formerly known as Continental Divide) has crept onto the bloggerati radar over the course of the year, an accomplishment due in no small way to the awesomeness of "Phones Don't Feud," the killer first single from this year's Columbus'd The Whim, released by Twosyllable Records. Holiday Shores possesses a sound that is loose and confident, jangly and fuzzy in a fun and light way. Check out the video for the much-loved aforementioned track below. If you love it, shoot me an email (clevelandbachelorATgmail.com) or leave a comment to this post with your own favorite holiday get-away spot. CB gets cold in the winter and is looking for any and all reasonable locations to flee the city for a weekend come January and February. Top suggestion (based on novelty, affordability, and the reader's rationale) gets 2 free tickets to the upcoming Evangelicals/Holiday Shores show on Saturday night at the Beachland. (Note: Contest ends at midnight Thursday night, so don't sleep on this one!)
