Medical City, USA

With all the talk about Cleveland continuing on the march to become a world-class medical city, the conversation usually centers around the Cleveland Clinic (for very good reason) and the Medical Mart boondoggle (for considerably less good reason).

A drive over to Waterloo Road for lunch and free wi-fi the other day, however, reminded me of our need to give shout-outs to the grass roots healing that is going on in our fair city, too, especially in cases where they can provide services that the mega-medical players in town cannot. For instance, does the Cleveland Clinic provide exorcisms? I think not.

I love when I see witchcraft and HIV in the same list.
