Celluloid Bachelor #4: Bishop Allen's "True or False"

Today's music video du jour comes to us via Brooklyn, courtesy those awesome indie popsters, Bishop Allen. Those of you who know me personally probably know that I'm a big Bishop Allen enthusiast, and I'll argue with vigor about the awesomeness of their 2009 release, Grrr.

Continuing in their series of top-shelf videos, this one finds Bishop Allen giving an Ed Sullivan-esque treatment to one of Grrr's catchier tunes, "True or False." Be sure to check out videos for tracks like "Dimmer" and "Click Click Click Click" (from 2007's The Broken String), too.

On a semi-related sidenote, Bishop Allen lead singer and keyboardist Justin Rice once had a starring role in Alexander the Last, a terrific film by mumblecore pioneer, Joe Swanberg. Tonight, another top Swanberg film, Nights and Weekends, will be screening in Cleveland ONE TIME ONLY. If you dig contemporary indie film or just plain checking out something new and cool, stop by the newly renovated Capitol Theatre near Detroit and West 65th Street at 9:20 tonight to see the film, which is part of a special curated evening by John Ewing of the CIA's Cinematheque operation.
